We aim to put in place a model flood alleviation and environmental scheme
- to reduce the flood risk to Bucklebury Village
- and to preserve the heritage of Bucklebury Village
- while protecting the Pang Valley and the North Wessex Downs AONB
We work pro-actively with the relevant agencies and levels of government
- The Environment Agency
- West Berkshire Council
- The National Flood Forum
- Our MP - Richard Benyon
- and others
And we involve all of the community: residents, landowners and the Parish Council
Our overall programme is implementing several projects that aim to reduce our risk of flash floods (caused by field and road run-off) and of river flood (caused by the River Pang breaking over its banks). The programme is following the phases shown below.

Some of our smaller projects have been completed. Our large project involves the creation of a river bypass channel that will divert excess water flow around the village in the event of an extreme flood event (which is thankfully rare).
